Outside

Set on the hillside of a stunning countryside valley, the A Frames’ striking design penetrates the view. If you’ve risen early with the birdsong, and taken a dew-drop-laden morning walk around the meandering streams of the grounds, come back to an outdoor deluge shower to start the day in the fresh valley air. Or as the sun sets, sit on your private balcony, fire pit, pizzas sizzling away in the outside pizza oven, hot chocolate (or wine!) in hand, only leaving to take a dip in your wood-fired hot tub under the stars.

Living Space

As you walk into the A Frame, you will be blown away by the full glass window, allowing for a stunning view of the wild nature outside. Get cosy in front of the wood burner fire, snuggle on the plumped sofa cushions, and enjoy the view with a good book. Thanks to the passionate sustainability work of the Pritchard family, the space is off grid, with compost loos, solar power and spring water running through the taps. Whilst it does have electricity, it’s USB only, so don’t pack the hairdryer!

Bedroom

A perfect hide away to rest, make your way up the ladder steps to the mezzanine where a super king size bed with fresh cotton sheets awaits you. Fall asleep under the starlight and wake up to bird song. So really, all there is to do is decide who makes the moka coffee and croissants and who gets to laze in bed as the morning light pours in from the Velux windows and be brought breakfast in bed.

Please note the walk to the cabin is over uneven grassland.

The bed is on a mezzanine level reached by a ladder.

300m away from other buildings, the Treehouse can be seen from cabin.

Onsite parking is available, but no vehicular access to the cabins, a wheelbarrow is provided for luggage (rucksacks are recommended!

Tracks to the cabin are not lit. Please bring torches, and appropriate footwear such as wellies or walking boots (especially in wetter months).

Initial firewood is provided, additional can be purchased via an honesty box or bank transfer whilst onsite.

Traffic noise can be heard at times.

Phone signal is dependent on the provider. If this is something that’s important for you, please make sure to check with your provider before you book/arrive. There is, however, wifi available in the cabin.

There are solar USB charging points only, suitable for mobile phones and other portable devices, but there are no 3-pin plugs.

We will send an information pack prior to your visit. If you don’t receive this a few days before your check in, please contact us as we are not often on site.

Well-behaved pets are always welcome at The Fold (an additional charge applies), but we kindly ask that guests be respectful to the space by keeping pets off soft furnishings and would like to point out that any damage caused will be charged for. This includes muddy bedding.

There is one super-king sized bed on the mezzanine reached by ladder

Huge glass windows flood the A-Frame with light but in summer months this can cause early mornings, if this is a problem please pack an eye mask
